My very own history :)

I was looking into the boxes of manuscripts earlier today and found this little note I kept inside one of the writing pads. Oh, how time flies!

Confront Your Myths

I have been reading a book on COGNITIVE PSYCHOLOGY and it is a very good book. I learn a lot from it. Among others is the importance to examine and confront out beliefs about ourselves and the world around us.

Let me share some of my views with you.

You are wrong if you believe that you are too old to begin a new career or job. One is never too old to go back and start over again. Always ask yourself this: 'Am I happy with my life? Am I doing what I love doing?'

Yes, we may have made many choices before. Some could be wrong but we don't have to live with them forever. Always remember that we are all smart and talented in our very own ways and WE CAN DO ANYTHING in our lives. We must BE POSITIVE!

Salam Ramadan!

One thing I learn from reading this book is: Every man must bear consequences of his own actions.

I am curious to know how many of my books have been sold by now. I want to give part of the royalty to the children in need, InsyaAllah.

To all of you who have purchased my books, thanks a million! May God bless you.

There are no rules for LOVE ;)

I found this wonderful surprise waiting for me in front of my gate earlier this morning. A neighbour gave this bunch of rambutans with a card saying 'Wishing you a healthy Ramadhan'. Look, how simple gifts like this can make another  happy! I feel loved.

There are no rules for love. Love each other the way you want to be loved.

Selamat Berpuasa to all my muslim readers.

I need your support. Please help :)

It was indeed a very long journey from writing my manuscript at home to seeing it in the form of a book in the bookstores, and I was very fortunate to have very wonderful people with the heart of gold to assist me along the way. I was never alone. My editor, Mr Rozlan Dafinka, who is also the editor to very prominent writers kept on telling me that I should not feel afraid and be embarrassed of my writings as they were quite good for a novice writer. My talented friend, D.H. Danieyal was always enthusiastic throughout the process. Without the assistance of all the hardworking and talented team like Stacey Bennett (my beloved illustrator for all my 4 self- published books), Mr Iqmal (design), MPH Distributors and Crescent News (marketing & sales), all my books would not have been a reality and would not be on the shelves of major bookstores today. I am truly so appreciative of their efforts.

An enormous debt of gratitude is owed to the beautiful purchasers, who offered me valuable support despite not knowing me in person and definitely knew that I am a new author in the market. If there are flaws in the books, I know they are mine alone. Please forgive me.

I am very lucky to have as many smart and talented people in my life, assisting me in the things I do. I would love to extend my thanks to dear group of friends of early readers. Naniz in Singapore, Aznita Azman in London and Finaz in Australia. It was extraordinarily generous of you guys to donate your precious time. And as for my upcoming children book series (which will be internationally  marketed), I would like to thank Miss Tomoko from Japan and my beloved Stacey Bennett from Australia for taking on the role of early readers. It is very difficult to find people who are particularly supportive this days.

I remain tremendously grateful to all the readers out there for making the journey to the bookstores, to call up the publishers, to go online in order to purchase my books. Thank you also to for their consistent encouragement and support in assisting me to have my books sold via their online portal.

Finally, to those of you who have read my books but dislike them; well... I thank you, too, for your support. It's hard to please everybody. Still, you have read the same words that my team and I had worked so hard to compile into the bound volume that you bought. Writing those books was a process of healing for me. So, in a way, you have helped me as well. Thank you.

Below are some words I wrote in my diary some time ago. There's so much stuff in my brain lately and I choose to diarise it all. I think it's worth sharing. Have a read.

From my diary~

My mistake  is:
I scare myself by imagining that no one will buy my books. But Alhamdulillah, 250 copies of SAYAP-SAYAP RINDU have been sold so far. And to me, that's the rezeki for the poor and needy.

And 1000 copies of BIAR MEREKA TAHU have been sold since its first publication. Syukur, Alhamdulillah. I want to thank everyone out there who has bought my books and read them. Your kind and sincere support means a lot to me. A percentage of the sale of  BIAR MEREKA TAHU will be forwarded to the orphanages as promised.

I scare myself by imagining that people will laugh at me when I ask them to invite their friends and family members to support me by purchasing my books and I would feel embarrassed. But I have to pursue my dreams, and I will put that feeling of fear away. I do not only dream to make as much money as possible in order to help the needy ones. I also love peace. By helping each other, I believe we will be happier and more peaceful at heart.

I choose to do good things. And here, I am taking the opportunity to ask everyone out there for their support. The more books I sell, the more people I can help. And I hope you will enjoy reading them, too.

If you are reading this status of mine, I hope you realise that you are the chosen one? Help me achieve my dream to help others.

Will you help me?

Bahasa Melayu translation:

Apakah anda sudi membantu saya?

Crochet For Cancer

Hello everyone! How have you all been so far? Just sharing my latest news with you. Lately, besides waiting for the right time to continue writing (since I have been having my very own writer's block), I  do something nice for others. Yes, this is what I do. I crochet chemo hats and beanies for the cancer patients using 100% cotton yarns. I believe that love needs to exist for life to go on.

Above is the picture of my first attempt in making chemo hats.

If you know how to knit and/or crochet, come and join me spread some love. Don't listen to those who say you're wasting your time and money. Do it with love and sincerity. When you do something with love and sincerity, you will feel love grow in you. It works for me. It would surely work for you, too.

Crocheting My Author's Block Away :)

Hi there! It has been quite some time since I last sat down and wrote or typed. I don't have the mood. Yup, that's what actually happens sometimes to authors like me. But no worries, for me whenever that happens, I'll find something else to do like acquiring new skills. This time, I learned how to crochet. Yes, I did it online. I refer to Youtube and watched carefully, bought the needed equipment like the crochet hook and yarns, and started doing my own scarf. Have a look. It's still ongoing. I am currently making a scarf for my sister who is studying in London.

Feeling Inspired

Picture credit to: OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network

Do you want to know why I write?

I'll tell you: it's about passion and self-respect. Doing what you love doing with much passion and love is the conduit for self-respect.

I don't know how many people have read my books. I also don't know how many of them love reading them. But all I know is that I wrote them with love and sincerity.

And I truly hope that I'll gain plenty of respect for respecting myself.

Thank you very much to all of you who have bought and read my books. I would love to hear your thoughts. Please send your reviews to me at

'RINDU AYAH' was actually the beginning of another dream that I had last year ~ to write novelette for children. I actually wrote 'RINDU AYAH' in Bangkok some time in March 2013. A few weeks later, I got the manuscript sent to Institut Terjemahan & Buku Malaysia (ITBM) for the review of 'Panel Penilaian'. With the confidence I had begun to have with me and the belief in myself, I continued writing 'HIDUP BERBUDI' - the second novelette for children.

But because I find that it's a bit too long to wait for a reply from ITBM, I had decided to self-published 'HIDUP BERBUDI'. And guess what? Both 'HIDUP BERBUDI' and 'RINDU AYAH' are now available for purchase in the major bookstores. Both books were written by me with much passion and love but published by different publisher.

I hope you'll love buying them for your children/ niece/ nephew or even give the books away as gifts to children on their birthdays. And I hope that I can continue giving more as I've always wished.

Please pray may the kids who receive them as gifts from you would love them and hopefully  they'll learn a lot from it.
